About The Show
The Big Man With The Big Tunes !
“Since the first episode aired in January 2020, I’ve been regularly deep diving into Soundcloud and Bandcamp searching for hidden electronic music treasures that I could bring to a wider audience through the podcast.
Celebrating the work of both home-producers and indie label artists, you’ll certainly find no ‘genre snobbery’ on this show 🙂 Anything and everything gets thrown into one giant electronic musical melting pot ……. Techno, SynthPop, Drum n’Bass, Synthwave, Electro-Rock, Ambient, Hip Hop, Rap, Hauntology, Trance, Drone, Electronica …… I play the lot. Eclectic electronic music from around the globe. As it should be !
It’s worth noting that I’m really just an enthusiastic amateur when it comes to podcasting. The show is all a bit DIY and low-budget ……. But in some ways I think that’s why people have ‘taken’ to it and continue to tune-in. There’s a certain charm and honesty to it I guess that some bigger more polished mainstream podcasts and radio shows sometimes lack. It’s simply me playing tunes that I absolutely ❤️ and I try to stay out of the way of the music as much as I can.
Finally, I’m also extremely happy and proud to be associated with the Electronic Music Open Mic Movement. From a simple concept by founder Martin Christie, a whole live ‘grass-roots’ music scene has now grown across the UK and beyond , where anybody, no matter their level of experience, is encouraged to take their laptops, groove boxes , synths, modular kit, iPads etc out and play their music live in front of an audience. A friendly and supportive community has now developed around these ‘EMOMs’. Do try and find an event near you, either to play at, or just to go along to and support the artists and organisers. You’re sure enjoy a night of top live electronic music, and maybe even a beer or 3 🎹 🍺 🙂
I hope you like this new website hub for all things ‘Homebrew Electronica’ , and will continue to listen, enjoy the show and support the many amazing ‘indie Electronica’ artists out there.
Turn It Up Loud & Rip Off The Knob !
Cheers !”
